Coaches

To coach a Special Olympic Athlete, one must be certified by Special Olympics Georgia. Athletes must be coached by a certified coach in order to compete in the state competitions.

        Coaches Packet

Coaches are required to fulfill 10 contact hours with an athlete.  Given that an athlete must have at least 8 contact hours with his/her coach before competing in a state competition, the 10 contact hours are rather easy to meet.  Coaches must also complete a registration packet where Special Olympics Georgia will conduct a background check prior to the interaction of a coach and athlete.

Coaches will be given a list of athletes that have expressed interest in a certain area and will determine time/location of the practice sessions.
